WebDev Meeting Minutes for October 13, 2010

Here is the agenda for the Web Developers meeting tomorrow at 1:30PM in SC315:

• Future direction of LCMS
• Process to deprecate out of date web sites
• Etc.

 Apple was not available for our meeting this week.  Hopes are they will attend next month.  We have a lot to discuss regarding the future of LCMS.  A discussion of the above topics will take most of our allotted time.  Hope to see you tomorrow.

Future direction of LCMS

Sungard HE's Luminis Content Management Suite (LCMS) to be de-supported in two years; end of support dated Oct 1, 2012. Four vendors for possible replacement of LCMS see Web Content Management Replacement.  Research to identify replacement enterprise-wide CMS to follow. Creation of Web Content Management Replacement Project Team to review, research and identify replacement for LCMS. Target January 2012 for transition to new system.

Process to deprecate out of date web sites

Outdated Web content discussion. Questions for discussion: contact responsible parties involved for a particular site(s)? When is a website deemed removed from memphis.edu domain? Options of archival for outdated sites?

Etc.

ITD's recent purchase of IBM Policy Tester, previously Watchfire, for scanning of secure Web content. Two administrative accounts to administer UoM reports, etc. Reports to be run monthly and made available to U of M interested parties.

UMdrive clients can view their UMdrive files that are public and viewable via the Web by logging into the portal, selecting eCampus Resources tab, then select "View my public UMDrive files".
