WebEx session: "The Mobile Expectations of College-Bound Students" - for specifics, see www.noellevitz.com/mobile.
Notes from Nick Day:
The mobile expectations webcast from today included a whitepaper with their survey's
findings. It covered both mobile access and social media (Facebook, Twitter, et al)
usage.
Some notes I took on the webcast are below:
- Slightly more than half of the people that responded had accessed schools' mobile
sites. Android was in use slightly more than iOS devices, but they were very close. - The vast majority (96%) had accessed them via mobile browsers, and not a specific
"mobile app".
Of the social media stuff, which is probably more relevant to our marketing folks,
it turns out that students highly used Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter (to a much lesser
extent).. quel surprise, n'est pas? It covered social media in fair detail, as seen in the whitepaper.
