2009 Presidential Inauguration
In January 2009, Barack Obama, the first African-American President of the United
States of America, was sworn into office. Millions of people the world over traveled
to Washington, D.C. to witness this historic event, and among them was Dr. Rosie Bingham,
U of M vice president for Student Affairs.
Dr. Bingham relates her experience in a moving account of the events of the day, and
a photographic slideshow that includes not only the inauguration itself, but also
Washington D.C. sites and highlights one of many inauguration balls that were held
that evening.
