Dr. Janann Sherman Visits Oxford University
Dr. Janann Sherman, chair of the University of Memphis history department, traveled
to Oxford University to be a speaker at a conference concerning women in higher education.
While in Oxford, she and Pouncer saw the sights of this culture-steeped university
town, founded in 1191, including the birthplace of Winston Churchill, the store where
the real "Alice in Wonderland" bought candy as a child, and gorgeous gothic architecture
in the town's churches, halls and chapels.
