For Release: June 4, 2014
For more information, contact: Alfred's (901) 525-3711
Alfreds on Beale opened in April 1986, becoming the first club on Beale Street to
showcase Rock N Roll music. Memphis is the “Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of
Rock N Roll” and they are keeping that tradition alive by featuring a variety of music
including dance bands, acoustic bands, solo artists, and even karaoke.
It also happens to be the proud home of the Memphis Jazz Orchestra, a 17 piece big
band which is featured every Sunday night. The performaces start from 6:00pm - 9:00pm
at Alfred's on 197 Beale Street in Downtown Memphis.
Visitors to Memphis always seem to find their way to Alfreds. Some celebrities who
have dropped in over the years include Michael Jordan, Evander Hollyfield, Justin
Timberlake, Cortez Kennedy, Reese Witherspoon, John Entwhistle, Ryan Phillipe, 3 Six
Mafia, various NBA players and a wide variety of musicians.
Alfreds houses the largest collection of gold records in the United States. This collection
is complemented by a wide ranging collection of Elvis photos.
The multi-level patio was recently featured in Cosmopolitan magazine as one of the top three places to visit in Memphis. Upstairs is a great
place to enjoy some food while watching the numerous activities along Beale Street.
