The Art Museum of the University of Memphis presents the Monster Marks Exhibition, which has pieces curated by Sherry CM Lindquist and Dorothy Kayser Hohenberg Chair of Excellence in Art History.
Awe-inspiring, thought-provoking, and sometimes disturbing, works featured from Memphis collections make visitors think about how monsters are defined. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr., this exhibit shows how contemporary artists use monstrosity to explore ideas and emotions relating to race and racism.
This exhibition is having a opening reception on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The exhibit is fully available starting March 25th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and continues through July 28th, 2018 at the CCFA building on the University of Memphis main campus.
