Brennan Villines Playing Evening Jazz In The Bluff City
Memphis entertainer Brennan Villines performs each Thursday night at Grawemeyer's. It is located on 520 South Main St. in Memphis and starts at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, he will also play at Lafayette's Music Hall, located on 2119 Madison Avenue, in Midtown Memphis. The event takes place on Monday, June 29th, 2015 starting at 8 p.m.
The young musician is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelors of Music and concentration in Music Business. His career began to take off when he was awarded a full scholarship to The Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and decided to move to Memphis from rural western Kentucky.
Brennan has been a member of various University of Memphis vocal ensembles including Sound Fuzion. He sung for the University of Memphis Jazz Singers and blues band Blue Ascendance; and has worked and studied with artists such Susan Marshall, Tim Goodwin, Jack Cooper, and Joyce Cobb.
Brennan's band "The Brennan Villines Trio" has gained popularity throughout the Mid-South for the past few years. The group was nominated for the first time as "Best Local Band" in The Memphis Flyer. The trio's first self-titled album features a collection of classic jazz standards to soulful originals.
