Each week, harmonica player Vince Johnson and the Plantation Allstars perform in Downtown Memphis. The performances run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
They take place at the Blues Hall in Rum Boogie Cafe, located on 182 Beale Street.
Vince Johnson is known for his "Mississippi Sax." His harmonica skills have amazed listeners worldwide.
He grew up in Chicago where he developed his musical identity as a vocalist and harmonica player, and would listen to and study Blues, R & B, and Jazz artists. Johnson combines both Chicago and Memphis tunes and makes them one-of-a-kind.
In 2014, he and his band released the album Live in Jonesboro, with reinvented classics and original works.
