Danielle Wilburn is a former reporter for the University of Memphis' student newspaper
The Daily Helmsman. Currently she is a radio DJ at WUMR U92 FM and the "on the street" reporter for
the U of M chapter of NABJ's The Conversation.
Danielle hosts the Friday mid-day show from 1-3 p.m. with Joshua Bolden
Her educational experience began at West Memphis High School where she developed her
style and passion for the English language. At the University of Memphis, Wilburn
is a student of journalism, focusing my studies on broadcast media. She immerses
herself into the world journalism, and yes she is a “news junkie.” Each evening Danielle
watches multiple newscasts, molding her craft around the unique talents of local and
national newscasters.
Along with a passion for news media, Danielle is a connoisseur of literature and
music. She likes to escape into the writing of such prominent contemporary authors
such as Sister Souljah. Her eclectic taste in music ranges from jazz to gospel and
beyond. The powerful lyrics and breathtaking vocals of artists like Whitney Houston
spark her enthusiasm for creativity.
However, Danielle's primary motivation comes from her mother. She aspires to exude
her mother’s undying sense of wisdom and strength in everything she does.
