Yolanda Renee' is a native Memphian and a 2012 Honors Graduate from the University
of Memphis College of Communication and Fine Arts.
She embarked on her new journey as an on-air personality at WUMR in the fall of 2011
after owning a Memphis Styling Salon and Spa for more than 20 years.
Music is second nature for Yolanda Renee'. Her father, Howard "Mickey" Gregory, is
a Stax Recording Studio legend and composer of such great hits as, "You're Movin'
Much Too Fast," and "Help Me Love," during the Stax era. Her dad is most noted as
the lead trumpeter for Isaac Hayes, whom he composed for and collaborated with, on
many memorable tunes such as the "Theme of Shaft," "Drowning On Dry Land," and "Good
Love" to name a few.
When not on the air, Yolanda Renee' enjoys emceeing local social events, The Peabody
Memphis rooftop jazz sets, and brisk walks in her riverfront community.
