The ABC program offers choices for parents to best meet their individual family needs because at ABC we recognize each family and child has unique goals that they are hoping to achieve for their child, whether short term or long term. Our choices are divided into the service tracks described below.
Track 1: Preschool-aged Program
(3 days/3 hours)
Specialists in speech-language pathology and behavior analysis work with your child in both group and individualized sessions. This unique co-treatment model blends the expertise of two professions that address the communication and behavior needs at the individual level. Program hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9am-12pm. All hours are in the clinic are at the Community Health Building. This option is designed to work on a myriad of kindergarten readiness skills across both social-communication and behavior. This is a year around program allowing the child to stay across semesters and years if needed.
Track 2: Individual Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-language pathologists at the University of Memphis, Memphis Speech and Hearing Clinic will work with your child in the clinic to best meet the language needs of your child. This option is for families seeking a focused SLP approach for their child and may include assessment, treatment, and home-school programs. Length of this program is based on a set criterion from the assessments and the goals set following the initial evaluation along with on-going data collection. Updates and performance feedback will be communicated regularly.
Track 3: Individual Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy
Behavior analysts will work with your child in the clinic and/or in the school setting to best meet the behavioral needs of your child. This option is for families seeking ABA for their child and may include assessment (skill-based and functional behavior assessments), focused skill building treatment, behavior intervention plans, consultation, and teacher/staff/family training for home and school. Length of this program is based on a set criterion from the assessments and the goals set following the initial evaluation along with on-going data collection. Updates and performance feedback will be communicated regularly.
