Research and Treatment

The Autism, Behavior, and Communication program blends the expertise of two professions—Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)—to create a unique and effective learning environment.

Applied Behavior Analysis

Behavior analysts utilize research and data to create plans that will make socially meaningful changes for the individuals they serve. ABA is an evidence-based approach in autism intervention that is effective for many of the behaviors associated with autism.

Speech-Language Pathology

Speech language pathologists are trained to treat individuals who have voice, speech, language, or swallowing disorders. For children with autism, the SLP uses best practice, grounded in neurological, behavioral, and developmental guidelines, to design treatment programs that address basic communication and social communication needs of children and their families.
