Welcome from Lavonnie Perry Claybon, Ph.D., Director of Mid-South Access Center for Technology

Mid-South ACT is affiliated with the Center for Rehabilitation and Employment Research (CRER). In this October edition of Enhancing Abilities, Mid-South Access Center for Technology (ACT) is featuring our support groups, disability awareness and networking exhibition, and Accessing HiSET, formally GED and GRE Test preparation programs. These free events include September’s 3-in-1 Support Groups presentation, October’s Disability Awareness and Networking Exhibition and the BRAINIACTS support group guest speaker. Both events will offer information, resources, and networking opportunities for our clients to utilize, not only our services but also services in the Mid-South area.

We welcome individuals with disabilities, caregivers, clinicians, service providers, teachers, paraprofessionals, and students throughout the mid-south area to participate in weekly mini Assistive Technology (AT) demonstrations in Mid-South ACT’s lab.

Our staff members have been busy implementing the Accessing HiSET, formally GED®/GRE® Test Preparation programs, and enhancing services for Mid-South ACT clients using AT strategies. The waitlist reopened for the Accessing GED Test Preparation program for vocational rehabilitation clients with visual and/or physical disabilities. Mark your calendar to attend an informational day on March 6, 2020  from 11:00am to 1:00 pm.
