Post-Admission Checklist

Once a student is admitted, please encourage them to take these important next steps before enrolling:

1Establish an official email account and access the MyMemphis Portal

Email is the official communication method of the University of Memphis. The email account is free, and you can set it up easily online. Go to iam.memphis.edu, click 'Initialize Your Account' and use the 20-digit code found in your acceptance letter.


2Residency verification and Tennessee Eligibility Act compliance

If you are classified as an in-state student, please visit verify your residency. This documentation is required by Tennessee law before tuition or financial aid can be assessed.


3Freshmen: Plan to attend New Student Orientation

Be on the lookout for a notification to sign up for New Student Orientation. This program is where students register for fall courses.


4Submit proof of appropriate immunizations

The State of Tennessee requires state public institutions of higher education to verify that students have received mandated immunizations. You can easily upload immunization documents at https://umwa.memphis.edu/immunizations. After the Student Health Center reviews the uploaded documentation, an email message will be sent to your memphis.edu email address.
