Srikar Velichety, Assistant Professor

About Srikar Velichety

Srikar Velichety received his Ph.D. from the Eller College of Management, University of Arizona. His research interests are  business and big data analytics with a focus on developing and applying social network analysis, econometrics and data mining methods in online communities and social media. His research demonstrates ways to tackle problems where there is very little social science or economic theory but a large, diverse dataset is available. His research has been published in major journals including JMIS and all major information systems and computer science conferences including the International Conference on Information Systems, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, and The Web Conference (formerly known as WWW). One of his articles was nominated for the Best Conference Paper at the Workshop on Information Technology and Systems in Milan, Italy.

During his time at the University of Arizona and since his arrival at the University of Memphis, Dr. Velichety has developed and taught various undergraduate and graduate level course on operations management, information systems and business and social media analytics.
