Fall Choral Concert premiering Mazi, Tigerchor and Voices of Inspiration
The University of Memphis Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music Voices is excited to premiere three new choral ensembles at the inaugural Choral Fall Concert.
This collection of choirs will delight audiences with variety, talent and enthusiasm for the choral arts.
Mazi (UofM’s inaugural treble choir) will present a program on “Worthiness.” According to researcher Dr. Brené Brown, worthiness arises from four elements: courage, compassion, connection, and vulnerability. This program speaks to the four requisite components that foster an individual’s sense of worthiness. From this discovery of one’s worthiness, each person can lead a wholehearted life.
The Tigerchor Choir offers a varied repertoire featuring classical and popular choral performances that showcase the thrilling high notes of a tenor, and the incredibly deep tones of a bass.
The Voices of Inspiration Choir soulfully performs anthems, spirituals, hymns, traditional and contemporary gospel, and sacred music of the world.
