About Kevin Sanders
Dr. Kevin Sanders joined the faculty of the University of Memphis in 2008. He is a Professor of Music and currently serves as Associate Director for Graduate Studies for the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music and the Dean’s Fellow for Research Development in the College of Communication and Fine Arts. He has performed on five continents with some of the world's finest orchestras, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Macau Orchestra in China, and the Melbourne Symphony in Australia. As a soloist, he has performed with the United States Army Orchestra in Washington D.C. and can be heard on his 2014 solo album Long Distance and the 2011 release of Radiant Blues on Mark Records. His students have been highly successful in national and international auditions and competitions and can be heard on three albums that the University of Memphis Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble has released since 2014. Dr. Sanders is also a past board member of the Memphis Youth Symphony and Concerts International and has presented clinics at music conferences across the country, including the International Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Dr. Sanders holds degrees from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Indiana University, the Juilliard School, and Michigan State University. He is an Adams Brass Instruments Performing Artist.
