Welcome!

We are part of the College of Education, the first unit created at the University
of Memphis, and located in Ball Hall. The UofM is an urban serving university, and
we strive to meet the needs of Memphis, Tennessee, and the nation. Our location shapes
much of what we do. Memphis is a diverse city with a rich and complex history. We
work to serve our community through engaged research, impactful clinical services,
and providing transformational education to our students.
Our faculty are active in research and dedicated to our students. Our Rehabilitation
Counseling and Educational Psychology and Research programs are nationally ranked
and recognized as some of the best in the U.S. Our Counseling Division is the largest
producer of counselors in the state. We pride ourselves in conducting community-engaged
science that makes our region and the world a better place. We are also an engaged
team in the classroom, teaching students about the amazing discoveries and ideas found
in our various disciplines.
Our faculty and students study a wide range of topics, with specific strengths in
adverse childhood experiences, disability science, diversity, and learning and cognition.
On other pages of the website, you will find relevant details about our degree programs,
as well as our faculty and their research interests. Take a look around and discover
what we have to offer. There is no better place to be!
