Our swim lessons offer a supportive, nurturing, and safe environment in which participants ages six months to adult can learn to swim or improve their existing skills. Group swim lessons are based on availability. Please come to entry desk at Recreation Center to register for group swim lessons.

Weeknight Sessions

Tuesday and Thursday evenings: Eight Lessons

  • Preschool: 4-5 years-30 minutes 5:50- 6:20 pm
  • Youth Beginners I/ II: 6-12 years-40 minutes 6:30-7:10 pm
  • Youth/Teen Intermediate: 6-18 years-40 minutes 6:30-7:10 pm
  • Adult Beginners: 13 years & up-40 minutes 7:20-8:00 pm

Class Descriptions

Water Aerobics

Water Aerobics classes are offered throughout the year in our Leisure Pool. You do not have to be a Recreation Center member to enroll in these classes.

*Six-week sessions cost: $69.

You may pay for the sessions at the front desk or click here to print the class registration form. Please bring completed form and payment one week before the starting date of each session.


Ages six months - three years | 30-minute lessons
Teaches water safety and water adaptation through songs and games for children and their parents. Parents will become confident handling their babies in the water while teaching water movement skills (10 pairs per instructor).


Ages four - five years | 30-minute lessons
Divided into two levels for: 
Beginners- no previous water experience
Beginners/intermediate- comfortable in water, puts face in water and blows bubbles, can swim minimum of five feet with or without belt or assistance.

*No more than six participants per instructor

Youth Beginners I

Ages six to 12 years | 40-minute lessons
Teaches the fundamentals of swimming and consists of eight lessons. No previous water experience is required.

Youth Beginners II

Ages six to 12 years | 40-minutes lessons 
Teaches basic water skills: floating on front and back, swimming 15 feet without assistance, gliding and kicking (consisting of eight lessons).

Youth Intermediate

Ages six to 12 years old | 40-minute lessons
Teaches how to swim easily on stomach in deep water, breathe from side to side, and swim using front and back crawl (consisting of eight lessons).

Adult and Teens

Ages 13 years and up | 40-minute lessons
Designed to teach beginner teens/adults the fundamentals of swimming, as well as work with those who want to develop their skills (consisting of eight lessons).  


Private Lessons

At CRIS, we are passionate about teaching kids and adults to be strong swimmers. Our lessons are for swimmers from age four to adult and include a private one-on-one session with your very own instructor for extreme beginners or those who want to condition through swimming.

*Sessions consist of five lessons, 30 minutes each.
