Center for Service, Learning & Volunteerism

The Center for Service, Learning & Volunteerism provides services to students, faculty, staff, and community partners to encourage community service-learning that is mutually beneficial to the university and our local community.

To get started or learn more about how to volunteer, visit the How to Serve Page or watch a quick video on how to use our volunteer platform, VolunteerCompass. VolunteerCompass is made possible through funding by The University of Memphis Green Fee Fund and Student Activity Fee.

CSLV Stats

The Center for Service, Learning & Volunteerism is proud to support over 3,300 student volunteers that volunteered over 18,000 hours to yield an economic impact of $448, 346 back to the greater Memphis Community in the 2018-2019 school year (economic impact is a measure of the value of volunteer time by The Independent Sector).

AmeriCorp Cities

The Center for Service, Learning & Volunteerism also places multiple AmeriCorp VISTA members with on and off campus partners. Current VISTAs are working at each of our University Schools, in our TigerPantry and at the Carpenter Art Garden.
