Summer Programming at the University of Memphis

As part of the University’s continuing commitment to ensuring the support and safety of children on our campus a new process has been implemented for the approval of University-sponsored youth programs.  In order to operate a University-sponsored youth program, you must register and receive approval in advance. 

Please refer to the Minors on Campus Guidelines to the left or visit the Office of Legal Counsel's page before completing the form. The University defines minors as anyone under the age of 18.

 Departments wishing to operate a summer youth program must first register with Educational Initiatives who will perform a risk management analysis, and if approved, procure final approval from appropriate department heads.

- Due to COVID-19, please include relevant COVID-19 related documentation as it relates to contact tracing, risk mitigation and mask guidelines. For examples, please refer to the University Schools Reopening Guidelines.

 Hosting departments are also required to have all designated program coordinators complete an in-person risk management training.  Additionally, hosting departments are required to have any camp staff who will be alone with children during the duration of the program to complete a TBI background check prior to the start of the program.
