Alumni Association Spotlights Mike and Linda Harless

Michael and Linda Harless

From the time Alumni Association Life Members, Michael (BS ’66) and Linda (BS ’67, ME ’71) Harless came to the University of Memphis, they have been staunch supporters.  Having met by a chance encounter on campus, Linda was President of Sigma Kappa and Mike an officer in Sigma Chi and both were SGA officers.  Upon graduation, the Harlesses remained active, joining the Alumni Association, helping to start two regional Alumni Clubs, serving their Greek organizations, attending Tiger athletic events and supporting the Tiger Scholarship Fund.

Recently, the Harlesses escalated their support, establishing the Michael and Linda Harless Endowed Scholarship Fund.  Benefiting two schools the couple holds dear, the fund will aid U of M students who attended St. George’s Memphis and graduated from St. George’s Independent School, where Linda served as a teacher, Director of the Lower School and Associate Head of the Germantown Campus and led the effort to start the pre-school program for three-year olds.

After years of dedication to the University of Memphis and St. George’s, Linda and Mike found a fund to assist students at both schools as nothing less than a perfect fit – building on years of commitment from two devoted alums.

To learn more about this and other scholarships, contact Kelly Davis, Director of Development, at kdavis9@memphis.edu or 901/678-4299.
