Five Fogelman College supply chain management undergraduate students were recently
recruited and hired by International Paper (IP). International Paper is one of the
leading companies in the paper and packaging industry with manufacturing operations
in North American, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Jonathan Bienz was hired as a transportation planner based out of the Memphis corporate
offices. Elham Mohammad, Megan Gwatney, Minsoo Kim and Adam Wicker were all hired
as global sourcing associates based out of Valliant, OK, Savannah, GA, Texarkana,
TX and Memphis, TN, respectively. Bienz and Mohammad graduated during the fall 2012
semester; whereas Gwatney, Kim and Wicker were graduates of the spring 2013 class.
According to IP’s recruitment offices, the University of Memphis is now considered
one of their "target schools" for supply chain management majors.
“Our department strives to prepare our students with real-world knowledge and applicable
skill sets for the supply chain management industry. Upon graduation our students
are business-ready and this makes them attractive marketable to major companies, such
as International Paper,” said Dr. Ernie Nichols, an Associate Professor of Supply
