Next Generation DNA Sequencing Technology

MiSeq Next generation sequencing (NGS) technology has revolutionized studies in genomics and molecular biology as well as areas of genomic and genetics research. Illumina sequencing technology uses a sequencing-by-synthesis approach, which utilizes fluorescently labeled reversible-terminator nucleotides, on amplified DNA templates immobilized to an acrylamide coating on the surface of a glass flowcell.

Illumina' s MiSeq desktop sequencer focuses on applications such as targeted gene sequencing, metagenomics, small genome sequencing, targeted gene expression, and amplicon sequencing. The MiSeq reagents enable up to 15 Gb of output with 25 M sequencing reads and 2x300 bp read lengths. The MiSeq system is easy to use with simple workflows. The FCGR features the Illumina desktop MiSeq sequencer which is perfect for small genome projects, from library –to- data collection within three days, has the shortest workflow, and a variety of applications.
