Graduate School Requirements After Acceptance

This check list provides the necessary steps students must complete prior to enrollment and before the end of your first term at UofM

UofM ID and Email

Establish your username, password, and access your UofM email.

The Tennessee Eligibility Verification for Entitlements Act requires the University of Memphis to verify that students 18 years of age or older who obtain a state public benefit are a United States citizen or otherwise lawfully present in the United States.

Please email a copy of your driver’s license to graduateadmissions@memphis.edu to satisfy the requirement.


Transcripts and test scores

The Office of Graduate Admissions requires OFFICIAL documentation with degree dates posted for application processing for all students. Documents are considered official only if sent directly from the issuing institution. Personal copies of requested documentation cannot be accepted.

*Note, you may have been admitted with unofficial documents, but official transcripts and test scores must be received by the end of your first semester to remain in good academic standing.

Student Health Center

The state of Tennessee requires state public institutions of higher education to verify that on campus students have received mandated immunizations and meet certain health requirements.

Financial Aid

Students seeking financial assistance through student loans may submit a FAFSA.

Graduate teaching and research assistantships are available in most of the academic areas of the University of Memphis, requiring 3-20 hours of service per week.
