About David Kean
Dave Kean, PhD joined the College of Health Sciences at the University of Memphis in January 2018. Dr. Kean finished his doctorate in exercise physiology at Kent State in 2012. He also received his bachelor's degree in human performance and his master's degree in sports medicine from the University of Toledo. Dr. Kean has been certified as a strength and conditioning specialist since 1995. He has also been certified as an athletic trainer since 1999. Dr. Kean worked in private clinics for ten years as an exercise physiologist. He also worked for ten years as a high school athletic trainer prior to finishing his doctorate in 2012. As the internship coordinator and an instructor, he uses his experience to assist students in their internships as well as in the classroom.
