Engineering Virtual Career Fair will be October 9, 2020 

TigerLink, powered by Handshake, will be the platform used to host our first ever virtual career fair this fall! Handshake is a modern career management platform for students and a robust college recruiting platform for employers.

The virtual career fair will take place between 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. on Friday, October 9th. There is no charge for students or employers to participate but advanced registration is required.

Students:

To participate in this event, please create a free Handshake account and complete your profile which includes uploading a professional resume to your Handshake account.  If you are looking for internship, part-time, full-time or co-op opportunities, make plans to attend!  While the virtual career fair is a different experience for us all this year, the networking opportunity remains!!

Turner Construction to Host Virtual Info Sessions

Beginning August 20th and running through December 10th, Turner Construction will host bi-weekly info sessions open to all Herff students! The sessions will be 45 minutes in length, allowing for 15 minutes of Q&A. Topics will include an overview of Turner, Safety First, Foundations of Preconstruction, quality at the project level topics, and a Turner Culture series. Information on Co-Op, internship and full-time opportunities will be included.

Interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Planned Co-Op interview dates are currently scheduled for October 22 and November 5th. Full-time opportunity interviews are scheduled for October 20th and November 3rd. Second round interviews will be November 11th and 13th. Should there be conflicts with fall break, Turner will consider those and adjust accordingly.

How Herff Jump Starts Your Career in Engineering:

The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) equates three semesters of co-op coursework as equivalent to one year's worth of professional engineering work experience.  Students with co-op credit or internship credit on their academic transcripts get higher starting salaries.  Herff engineering co-op/internship positions are paid positions with salaries well above minimum wage.
Many of our industrial partners provide on-site training for Herff student interns because they hope to hire them permanently upon graduation.
