Project Description : I am seeking a research assistant for a project that analyzes the presentation of men's emotions in sports. In particular, the project involves content analysis of the 32 "One Shining Moment" videos from the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The videos run from 1987-2018 and the particular focus of the analysis is to determine whether there have been changes over time in how men's emotions are presented in the videos. The content analysis work can be done independently, but the student will be part of a research team so there will be team meetings as well.

Requirements for Student Applicants : Sociology major is preferred, but other social science majors will be considered; Student must be in good academic standing; Attention to detail is a must along with good written and oral communication skills.

Hours per week the student will work: 10 hours per week with flexibility in the scheduling of those hours.
