Master of Science (formerly MSBA in MIS) in Information Systems:

The MSIS (formerly MSBA in MIS) degree provides its students with courses that contain the core content of all information systems programs, with the content directed toward managerial-level activities. Courses often use team activities, case studies, and real-world projects to focus on the types of knowledge and skills needed for effective management of an organization's computer and communications technologies and its information resources. Specific MIS courses used as a basis for this program include topics such as business database systems, systems analysis and design, data communications and networks, computer hardware and system software, and information systems management and planning.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration with concentration in Management Information Systems:

The Ph.D. degree with a concentration in MIS focuses primarily on the preparation of new college/university-level faculty, specifically targeting the teaching and research expectations of faculty. Students review the core topics in information systems, with an emphasis on current research related to those topics. Their basic MIS courses typically contain components in which students review the related research and/or conduct related research and make presentations of results. Specific MIS courses used as a basis for this program include topics such as business database systems, systems analysis and design, data communications and networks, computer hardware and system software, and information systems management and planning. Students in this program also take four courses specifically related to research methodology, as well as two courses in research specifically related to the field of information systems.
