LCON receives 10-year re-accreditation
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners voted during their May 5-8 meeting to grant 10-year accreditation to the Loewenberg College of Nursing (LCON) baccalaureate degree, master's degree and post-graduate APRN certificate programs. Accreditation is effective as of Sept. 30, 2019, the first day of the CCNE on-site evaluation, and will extend until June 30, 2030.
The Board determined that the programs met all four accreditation standards: 1) Program Quality: Mission and Governance; 2) Program Quality: Institutional Commitment and Resources; 3) Program quality: Curriculum and faculty teaching learning practices; and 4) Program Effectiveness: Assessment and achievement of program outcomes. The Board additionally determined that there are no compliance concerns with respect to all key elements.
"The full re-accreditation for 10 years (2020-2030) is a testimony of the college's high quality and excellent academic programs, supportive leadership of the university, committed faculty, staff, and students. We continue striving for excellence and preparing graduates who help transform healthcare and build equitable health for all," said Dr. Lin Zhan, LCON's dean.
