Dean Zhan named Geriatric Nursing Visionary
University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing Dean Lin Zhan has been recognized as one of the country’s leading geriatric nursing visionaries.
The honor was part of a Geriatric Nursing article written by Virginia Burggraf, Radford University School of Nursing in Radford, Virginia, and Christine Mueller, University of Minnesota School of Nursing in Minneapolis. The article, “Visionaries in Geriatric Nursing: A legacy for the Future,” highlighted the nursing professionals who are contributing research, practice and education to advance gerontological nursing.
Considered a current mentor who is continuing to build a foundation of research and innovation, Dean Zhan was included in the list for her well-known “research on the quality of life of older adults and ethnic minorities and the promotion of hydration for community dwelling elderly.” The article is designed to honor the nursing professionals who have contributed significantly to the expansion of the field by advancing knowledge to guide gerontological nursing care.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by my peers,” said Dean Zhan. “I am truly honored and humbled to be mentioned among top-notch nurse researchers/scholars who are advancing gerontological nursing! I am equally pleased to see LCON being recognized.”
