About Erin Alexander

Erin Alexander has been a practicing nurse for 20 years, with 16 years at the bedside primarily working in adult cardiovascular. For nearly four years, she worked in clinical education/staff development in a large healthcare organization. Erin is a graduate of University  of Memphis’ Executive Nursing Leadership MSN program. She also earned her MSN in nursing education from Western Governors University.  She serves as full time faculty in the undergraduate BSN program at LCON, Memphis Campus. Her primary instructional areas are Adult Health I & II and Introduction to Professional Nursing.

Erin is a member of the National League of Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, and the Tennessee Nurses Association.

Erin is committed to protecting and preserving the nursing profession through understanding the impact of moral injury and burnout within frontline nurses. Her work includes an emphasis on psychological safety in the healthcare workplace and ensuring that students are learning in a challenging, yet safe environment. Erin's research that began during the EMSN program continues throughout her work in the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing DNP program.
