About Amy Luckey
Christie Cavallo joined the University of Memphis in June 2023 as the Director of Simulation and an Assistant Professor at the Loewenberg College of Nursing. She has 31 years of experience as a BSN-prepared nurse in the clinical setting to include ICU, telemetry, med/surg, surgery and home health. She has been teaching undergraduate nursing students for 12 years and has served as the course coordinator for Skills I, II and III, Medication Safety, Concepts I: Foundations for Nursing Practice and as clinical faculty for Concepts III and Internship. Mrs. Cavallo served as a simulation champion in her previous appointments.
She received her BSN from Delta State University of Cleveland, Mississippi in May 1994 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Nursing Education, from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota in December 2012. She is currently seeking her Doctorate in Education from Walden University. She also holds a Certified Nurse Educator, Certified Academic Nurse Educator and Certified Healthcare Educator in Simulation certifications. She is a member of the National League of Nursing, Tennessee Simulation Alliance, Tennessee Nurses’ Association, American Nurses’ Association, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
