About Christie Manasco
Dr. Manasco has been in nursing education since 2004 with a primary interest in using human patient simulation with undergraduate nursing students. She currently teaches full-time in the undergraduate nursing program on the Lambuth Campus, where serves as assistant dean.
Her courses include Foundations of Patient-Centered Care, Foundational Nursing Skills, and Transitions into Professional Nursing Practice. Dr. Manasco's practice specialty is adult oncology and hospice/palliative care.
Dr. Manasco serves on the Evaluation Committee, Undergraduate Council, Dean's Leadership Council, Strategic Committee, Admissions Committee and FAR Committee. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), and the National League for Nursing. Dr. Manasco serves as the treasurer of TNA District 6.
Dr. Manasco received her BSN from the University of South Alabama, where she was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award. She received her MSN in nursing education from Union University and a PhD in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University. Her research focus was prebriefing in simulation experiences by undergraduate nursing faculty.
