Student Services

The University of Memphis offers many services for online students.

Online classes are engaging and convenient but they do require high levels of self-discipline and motivation. To ensure a successful online experience, check out the helpful links provided below and to the right. 

Our Bursar's office provides student fee information and general payment guidelines, collect University fees and charges, and disburse financial aid.

The Office of Financial Aid administers federal, state, and institutional aid programs to qualified students. Knowledgeable staff members will guide students through the qualification process.

Books for online courses can only be purchased at specific sites.  Be sure to review our detailed book website information. Please be sure to read the return policy and other important notices.

Our Library provides services in online searches for both print and online books, publications, and articles.  Students can also use InterLibrary loan to borrow materials, and get individual librarian assistance online.

umTech (Information Technology at the University of Memphis) offers diverse support resources including an extended hour Helpdesk, email, AskTOM, online file storage, and software-on-demand.

Online Tutoring is a free service for all UofM students.  Subjects available for tutoring include accounting, math, nursing, science, statistics, and writing.                               

The Testing Center offers a full range of assessment options including CLEP and DSST exams which can help students earn college credit for knowledge acquired outside of the traditional classroom.

Disability Resources for Students (DRS) assists students needing disability-related accommodations. Online students may also utilize assistance with paper writing and study strategies and weekly academic counseling and coaching.

Our Counseling Center is a comprehensive agency providing psychological and career counseling, and psychological/career testing. Online students can access our Anxiety and Depression screening tool, ULifeline resource center, and other informative links.

Health Requirement Exemption - Full-Time online only students can request an exemption of the MMR and Varicella (Chicken Pox) immunization requirements. Complete the exemption form at the Student Health Services site.

Career Services offers numerous resources from help developing a resume, polishing interview skills, to many informative tools to help you succeed in your career search.

Veterans Services can help you understand VA programs and benefits that can be applied to your degree here at the University of Memphis.
