Immigration Executive Order

Dear Campus Community:

There continue to be questions from students, faculty and staff regarding the latest executive order from President Trump, particularly with federal judges in Hawaii and Maryland issuing restraining orders that temporarily stay the 90-day suspension of entry by citizens of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

I want to remind our campus community that we are here to support you. If you have questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. The following resources are available:

1. Center for International Education Services (901.678.2055)
2. Student Counseling Center (901.678.2068)
3. Office of Legal Counsel (901.678.1565)

We recognize that this latest executive order and related legal process may well raise questions and concerns. I will work with our Center for International Education Services and Office of Legal Counsel to arrange an open question-and-answer session in the next two weeks. Provost Weddle-West and I will be in attendance. I look forward to talking with you directly in the very near future.

Warm Regards,

M. David Rudd
President | Distinguished University Professor
