FedEx Institute of Technology's 901 AI to Host AI + Cybersecurity Conference

Join both academic and industry experts at this 2nd annual conference to explore how the intersection of AI and Cyber Security is transforming how we work and how we live.

It's not too late to showcase YOUR research via poster sessions throughout the event.

On August 14, the FedEx Institute of Technology will host a full-day AI + Cybersecurity Conference, bringing together top industry leaders, technologists, and innovators to explore how artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are reshaping the future of work, life, and infrastructure.

The day will begin with an Opening Keynote from Dr. David Bray, CEO and Principal at LeadDoAdapt Ventures, Inc., titled AI and National + Organizational Transformations. A distinguished thought leader in emerging technologies and digital transformation, Bray will provide a global and strategic perspective on how AI is redefining governance, security, and leadership across sectors.

This high-impact event will feature six interactive sessions:

Session 1 (sponsored by eBIZ): AI in Action will spotlight real-world implementations of AI across industries. Panelists from eBiz Solutions, Bayer, Sedgwick, and AuditPro.ai will share first-hand insights on what’s working, what’s not, and what organizations should know before launching AI initiatives—plus an exclusive look at the world’s largest Microsoft Co-Pilot pilot.

Session 2: Pulling AI and Cyber Together turns the focus to broadband infrastructure and cyber defense. Experts from the Univeristy of Memphis, Ookla and Emely AI will examine how AI is driving more effective, secure data ecosystems for critical services.

Following a special announcement from the University of Memphis, participants will enjoy a networking lunch before diving into three future-facing conversations:

Session 3: New Ways of Working explores how AI is redefining careers, talent pipelines, and the university’s role in workforce innovation.  Hear viewpoints from students, companies, and experiences from Rice University.

Session 4: New Ways of Living unpacks how AI is influencing daily life, consumer behavior, and marketplace dynamics.  Engage in exciting discussions understanding how buyers and sellers are changing.  Learn how connective cities are transforming how we drive and transport materials.

Session 5: Community Collaboration Panel features Memphis-based civic tech leaders and grassroots innovators shaping the city’s tech future.  Learn how YOU can participate and further grow your own skills and organizational capabilities.

In Session 6 (sponsored by SIM): Real-World Cyber Attack Response, The Memphis area Society for Information Management (SIM) Chapter is brining cybersecurity leaders from Methodist Le Bonheur, St. Jude, MAA, Sylvamo, and the City of Germantown will break down real incidents and explore how AI is transforming response and recovery strategies.  SIM and the FedEx Institute of Technology are formal partners, working to uplift Memphis capabilities and connect the area with the world.

The conference will close with a keynote from Dr. Seth Dobrin, whose talk—AI, Cybersecurity, and Trust—will connect the day’s themes around innovation, responsibility, and resilience.

Hosted by the FedEx Institute of Technology and its 901 AI series, this event is free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to engage with leading voices at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. Whether you're a tech professional, student, policymaker, or just AI-curious, this event promises meaningful insight, powerful connections, and practical takeaways.

The FedEx Institute of Technology will host an Open House after the event. Bring your meetup, group meeting, or simply mingle with other technology leaders. Organizations including the Society of Information Management (SIM) and the Tennessee CPA (TENCPA) Memphis area are holding chapter meetings during this open house time. You can too!
