UofM Partners with LifeDoc Health to Advance Community-Based Healthcare

Partnership will support healthcare services for all under a community-engaged model across Memphis and the Delta region

The University of Memphis has established a strategic partnership with LifeDoc Health, a Memphis-based primary care provider dedicated to preventing diabetes and obesity through culturally competent healthcare and research. This collaboration is designed to improve access to preventive care, support community health, and advance data-driven solutions for better health outcomes.

LifeDoc Health employs a multidisciplinary, evidence-based clinical model that integrates research, data analytics, and culturally tailored interventions. With a strong community presence and a longitudinal dataset of thousands of patients with chronic conditions, LifeDoc offers a unique foundation for addressing health disparities in Memphis and beyond.

Through this partnership, the University of Memphis will collaborate with LifeDoc’s existing networks and apply the expertise of UofM researchers to drive innovative, cost-effective care models. Together, they aim to improve population health, expand equitable access to care, and promote long-term community well-being—particularly among underserved populations.

This initiative reflects the UofM’s commitment to community-engaged research and its role as a catalyst for positive change in the Mid-South.
