Master's of Health Administration

With among the most affordable tuition rates and lowest costs of living in the country, the nationally-ranked, CAHME-accredited University of Memphis Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is an exceptional educational opportunity. The MHA program was ranked in the Top 20 by Modern Healthcare in 2014, and US News & World Report ranked it among the best in the nation in 2015. It is the only program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) in Tennessee.

The on-campus track can be completed full-time in two academic years or part-time in as little as three years. Evening classes accommodate both our part-time students who generally work full-time, and our full-time students who are very often placed into 20 hour per week, paid graduate assistantships in major healthcare organizations across the Memphis area. Our professional development seminar, Day One, is a nationally recognized model for developing communication, team building, and leadership skills and begins with a weekend immersion experience at the Team Trek Learning Center utilized by Fortune 500 companies. MHA students benefit from nationally- and internationally-renowned full-time faculty, executive/practitioner adjunct faculty, and incredible networking opportunities with the local chapters of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), both of which are among the best professional chapters in the country. Importantly, our students consistently place among the best in the country at national case competitions and regularly receive a significant number of nationally-competitive post-graduate administrative fellowship placements.

The MHA program is located in the University's CEPH-accredited School of Public Health, is a full graduate member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), and belongs to ACHE's Higher Education Network (HEN).
