Professional & Strategic Planning SLPC - Professional & Strategic Planning

Throughout your time in college you will acquire a variety of experiences where you will develop a variety of skills. You will be expected to be able to identify and articulate your skills, strengths, knowledge, and experiences relevant to the student leadership positions, internships, and full-time jobs that you will apply for. It is those same planning skills that will help you navigate how to immerse yourself in the college culture and ways to get involved. You can plan on how to get involved, help develop different organization's mission and vision, and propel yourself to employment after graduation.

Students will be able to:

  1. Understand strategies to develop an individual or organizational mission statement and values.
  2. Lay out an action plan to complete tasks.
  3. Organize and create systems to handle resources, information, and materials.
  4. Articulate strengths, skills, knowledge, and experiences and how they relate to their career goals.

Examples of opportunities to enhance this competency at the University of Memphis:

  • Join a Registered Student Organization (RSO) that aligns with your interests, values, and/or professional goals.
