Undergraduate Alternative Admissions

Please note: You can only appeal based on your test scores or your GPA (not both).

Based on Praxis I Core Academic Skills for Educators Exams (CORE)

As an undergraduate student, you can appeal on the basis of your Praxis Core examinations. You can appeal if you have passed two of the three examinations and you are within five points of passing the third examination.

Passing Scores

  • Core Academic Skills for Educators: Reading: 156
  • Core Academic Skills for Educators: Writing: 162
  • Core Academic Skills for Educators: Math: 150

Based on GPA

As an undergraduate student, you must have a 2.5-2.74 GPA to appeal the GPA admissions requirement of a 2.75. You will need to provide evidence that you have passed the Core Academic Skills for Educators (Reading, Writing, and Math) exams.

Graduate Alternative Admissions

Based on GPA

As a graduate student, you must have a 2.5-2.74 GPA to appeal the GPA admissions requirement of a 2.75. You will need to provide evidence that you have passed the Core Academic Skills for Educators (Reading, Writing, and Math) exams. You will also need to provide a passing score on the Praxis II Content Knowledge Exam required for your area of licensure. Please refer to the ETS website> for licensing requirements.
