Getting ready for the new semester?

Update your profile, including name, pronouns and preferred contact methods. Students in all your courses can see your profile (NOTE: you can't add a photo here)
Review the default notification settings and adjust them to your own notification preferences if needed. Make sure you are forwarding email to your preferred location.

Choose a Home Page. Set the page you want students to see first. There are several options. Please view the UM3D workshop recording: Home page and syllabus design
Customize your Course Navigation Menu so necessary tool links are available to students and unused tools are hidden.

Add a syllabus that outlines your course expectations. Build in Canvas for best accessibility. You can also link to a PDF that has been checked for accessibility or to an accessible OneDrive Word document.
Give meaningful titles to modules and the items within modules such as links, activities and assignments.
Check that all your Canvas pages are accessible using the built-in accessibility checker.
Make sure your videos are captioned. Even the ones you didn't create!

Check all links to ensure they work.
If you've been developing in a master course shell or a sandbox shell, make sure you import your materials into the semester shell.
Be sure your content is published.
