Andra Chisholm is an Instructor of Hospitality and Resort Management in the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort Management at the University of Memphis. Ms. Chisholm teaches Food and Beverage, Hospitality, and Event related courses. She earned her Culinary Management degree from Daytona State College and her Bachelor of Science in Event Management and Master of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. While a graduate student, she received the first place award in Rosen College of Hospitality Management’s 2018 Hospitality Entrepreneurship Competition where she earned $5,000 to put towards her business concept. She has also won Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Daytona Beach chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She has worked in the culinary and hospitality industry for the past 10 years. Those companies include Le Cordon Bleu, Hilton, The Shores Resort and Spa, The Pastry Studio and more. Prior to joining University of Memphis she was the head baker and chef instructor for Daytona State College’s Mori Hosseini College of Hospitality Management. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Iowa State University where her research interests include demotivation factors influencing African American tourist decision-making process when selecting a destination to travel. She has also appeared on Food Network’s Dessert Games as well as season four of Holiday Baking Championship.
