Fund Codes Explained

Fund codes are five character codes comprised of three elements:
a number followed by a three-letter group followed by a fourth letter

The number represents the funding source,
the three-letter group represents
the college, department, or program supported.
the fourth letter represents the material format.

Below is a decoding of the system.

# = Source of Funds

1	Normal operating funds, AKA "materials budget"
2	Transferred to us from a department
3	Foundation Accounts (including Wynn, the Book Fund, etc.)
4	Dean’s Discretionary Funds
5
6	MOE money (Maintenance Of Effort “stimulus” funds)

XXX = Program, Department, of College Supported
(note: some derivations are from historical fund systems and
are not intuitive "abbreviations" the current department name)
