Because of budget constraints, routine binding has been suspended.
Current limited binding is determined on a per-case basis.
policy updated 04/19/2010 - KWM
Policy superceded:
The Periodicals Department [sic] processes the books which are sent to the bindery
and maintains the necessary files.
The Acquisitions Department staff, however, is alert to the need for binding certain
types of newly-received material: non-reference looseleaf material; oversize, heavy,
or thick paperbacks; and material for which the request card specifies binding.
All unbound material for the Music Library or Special Collections is screened by a
staff member of the respective department to decide on binding. As funds permit, the
Acquisitions Department provides binders for publications that are too flimsy to stand
alone on the shelf.
