The University administration has authorized the faculty to select for purchase, within
the annual budgetary limits, library materials which support academic programs, i.e.,
primary collection development. The judgment of the scholarly worth of materials
being considered for purchase is reserved for the faculty (both teaching and library).
Judgment of the worth of gift material rests with library faculty, though teaching
faculty members are often consulted in specialized areas.
