2009 Journal Cancellation Review List
The Library Liasions and Departmental Representatives to the Library have co-ordinated
departmental-level reviews of title subscriptions that are currently attributed to
a library fund code corresponding to a department. This compiled list is being made
available for all faculty to look for titles of interest that may have been attributed
to another department and recommended to cancel by that department. The intention
is that any titles of concern can be "rescued" by adding the expenditure to the rescuing
department's fund code, so long as the total commitment remains under the targeted
cut amount.
These lists are to inform a review process of ongoing expenditures subscribed at a
title level. This list does NOT include titles that are accessed via full-text access
within a larger database subscription paid for at the package level. These lists are
primarily print journals subscriptions and standing order commitments, but may include
online journal titles to which we subscribe at the title level. These subscriptions
are paid for by the library, and the titles are attributed to academic departments
for their oversight; for reporting to accrediting bodies; and for other statistical
applications.
