The Exercise Training Intervention Laboratory is a resource for intervention studies
focused on both aerobic and anaerobic exercise training. The facility is well-equipped
with a variety of cardiovascular equipment, as well as machine and free weight equipment.
Investigators in the department have exclusive access to the facility for one-on-one
and group exercise training of research participants.
In addition, the laboratory is open at selected times during the week to provide an
opportunity for faculty and staff within the college to perform a personal exercise
program. A graduate assistant is available to perform basic physical assessments,
as well as to provide guidance related to exercise prescription and oversight. Prior
to using the laboratory facility for training purposes, interested individuals must
complete a consent form, a medical history form, a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q), a physical approval form (if applicable), and a contact form. All of these documents must be printed, completed, and turned into the laboratory
staff prior to using the facility.
Matt Davis is currently a graduate assistant at The University of Memphis. Matt has
previously earned a bachelor degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University
of Tennessee. His previous work experience includes both athletic training and physical
therapy settings. Matt currently plans to pursue a career in strength and conditioning
