Facilities

The Music Library is located in the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music Building on the first floor in room 115. The Music Library has listening and viewing stations equipped for playing CDs, LPs, cassettes, VHS tapes, and DVDs. No copying is permitted with any of the equipment. Most recordings are available to check out, with varying circulation guidelines for different classes of borrowers.

There are seven public PCs, all of which are equipped with Microsoft Office and have complete catalog and Internet access. The Music Library has a printer for University of Memphis students, faculty, and staff. There are also computer labs with printers in the University Center's Technology Hub and McWherter Library's Learning Commons.

The Music Library has multiple scanners—an overhead KIC scanner, an oversize flatbed scanner connected to one of the public PCs, and equipment for reading and scanning microfilm and microfiche. Scanned content may be saved on a jump drive or the UM Drive or printed. The overhead KIC scanner allows patrons to email scanned content to themselves or save it on a jump drive.
