Several positions are available for programmers, post-doctoral researchers, and projector
coordinators at the Advanced Distributed Learning Center for Intelligent Tutoring Systems Research & Development in the Institute for Intelligent Systems (IIS) at the University of Memphis. Individuals who fill these positions will help to develop
the next generation of intelligent tutoring systems that use conversational agents
to assist students to learn. This research is highly interdisciplinary and involves
collaborations with students, staff, and faculty in several departments, including
computer science, psychology, mathematics, engineering, and education. Please let

of two-years in duration pending funding and performance.
Brief description of requirements for these positions:
- Computer Programmers (multiple positions)
- At least four years programming experience
- Preferred Computing Platform: Cloud computing
- Programming environment: Python (preferred), C#, Java.
- Interface: HTML5, FLASH, 3D environments (Second-life, Unity)
- Post-doc Researcher 1: Cognitive Sciences
- PhD in cognitive sciences or related area
- Focus Research Area & Skills: Human-computer-interaction (HCI), instructional design & technology, or learning
environments in virtual worlds
- Post-doc Researcher 2: Computational Linguistics
- PhD in Cognitive sciences or related area
- Focus Research Area & Skills: Intelligent tutoring systems, computational linguistics, or semantic analysis
- Post-doc Researcher 3: Computer Engineering
- PhD in computer engineering or related area
- Focus Research Area & Skills: Software engineering
- Project Coordinator:
- Expertise: Familiar with policy & procedure related to government contracts
